Dr. Nguyen is currently a radiology resident at the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC).  Dr. Nguyen graduated from Louisiana State University with Bachelor of Science in Physics/Electrical Engineering in 1984.  He continued graduate study in Physics and received a Master of Science from Purdue University in 1986.  Prior to his medical education, Dr. Nguyen had extensive industrial experience in the areas of electro-optics, digital imaging processing, and software development for communication and database systems.  Dr. Nguyen received his medical degree from the Health Science Center at San Antonio of the University of Texas in 1999.  After a year of internship at Louisiana Medical Center-New Orleans, he came to the University of Missouri for radiology residency training in the year 2000.  Dr. Nguyen expects to complete his residency in the summer in 2004.  He will begin a fellowship in Cross-Sectional Imaging at the Johns Hopkins University in 2004.  His primary areas of interests include advanced applications of computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging and magnetic resonance spectroscopy.
